What is the weather like in September ?
See this web site for stats. Vancouver weather

I am travelling by Air with a bike, suggestions?
Pack the bike in a cardboard bike box, preferaly a mountain bike box, its larger. Put all your clothing and everything possible into the box, helmet & shoes etc. Usually the airlines consider this box as a piece of your bagage, but check first. Remember not to tape up the box until after you have passed through security as some airlines want to look inside. You may wish to take out additional insurance on your bike as the airlines have limited $$$ coverage per bag.

What if I do not want to bring my bike to Vancouver ?
With five store locations, Reckless Bike Stores have a variety of rental bikes available t only $150 for the ride. Just provide them with your size and specifications.

How to register and collect funds!
Each rider should complete & send in the registration form with the deposit to secure their place. This is refunded when the riders provide a check with the sponsorship funds for the event.

Each rider should have the person sponsoring them complete the sponsor form and sign it. The rider is responsible for collecting all the funds and bringing a check with them to the event for the total amount. Make checks payable to VGH & UBC Hospital. The hospital foundation will mail a tax receipt to each of the riders sponsors. Each rider my of course raise more than the minimum amount required for the number of days they are riding.

If the riders are unable to find enough sponsors, they are responsible for the remaining amount required to ride. The Good news is that You will get a tax receipt for that amount.

Who is eligable for accommodations!!
Riders cycling two consecutive days are provided free accommodations after the first day. If the rider is cycling three consecutive days they would be provided two days accommodation and so on.

What if I want my own room!
Each rider is expected to share a room with another person of the same gender. A single options available for a fee where space is available.

What if I am only able to ride for one day and find the $300 too high.
For riders wishing to just ride for one day, we would love you to be able to secure $300 in sponsorship, but understand this is sometimes difficult. Considering this is a fundraising ride we hope you would be able to raise a minimum of $75.

What are my expenses! !
Riders are expect to buy lunch and the evening meal.

Meals ?
This should prove to be an extremely social event. Options for group dinners will be available each night.

I need a room before and after the ride in Vancouver not far from G F Strong.
We were able to secure a discount hotel rate $145 plus tax (reserve by Sept 1st) for single or double occupancy for the riders at the Holiday Inn on Broadway Email your request to Mary Jane info@hivancouver.com and mention you are part of the Out of a Limb Cycle ride or phone (604) 879-0511. The Driver will sheppard and be responsible for helping load and unload bags each day. We will provide accommodations and a meal allowance. Anyone want a 7 day holiday ?
